Yes, it was Motorola who introduced the first dual-core smartphone but LG is now stealing the show by making the LG Optimus 2X White Edition available in South Korea. And it’s not only Motorola that should worry about the arrival of Optimus 2X, Apple should also at least feel as if one of its toes is being stepped on– LG has beaten the White iPhone 4 (which is rumored to be launched on February 27th) to the punch. What is inside the Optimus 2X’s white casing that makes it worthy to be called “the world’s first”? Well, it is the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor that is wrapped around a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen. Of course Optimux 2X runs on Google’s Android 2.2 mobile OS, FroYo, pre-installed with a 2.3, Gingerbread. It has 8GB of inbuilt storage and full HD 1080p video recording and playback capabilities.
There are rumors that Optimus 2X will be available in Europe before this month ends, but these are just rumors and it is not really clear if the white edition will be made available too outside of Korea.
