The third version of Dell’s 17.3-inch gaming laptop, the Dell Alienware M17x R3, is now available in select stores. The $1,499 Alienware M17x R3 features Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” processors – the Core i7 2820QM, i7 2720QM, and i7 2630QM and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB or AMD Radeon HD 6870M 1GB video card. Of course, with a processor of that kind, it is only fitting that this machine also sports up to 16GB of RAM. There is also an optional full HD and 3D-capable 120Hz full HD display with 3D bundle. There are also two storage bays for hard drives or solid state drives. It is also natural for the Alienware M17x R3 to have DVD burner or Blu-ray combo.
Other features of this notebook: webcam, stereo speakers that support for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound output; USB 3.0, HDMI output and input ports, and mini-display connector. The operating system that comes with the notebook is Windows 7. The laptop comes in black and red colors, it’s keyboard is backlit.

Does the Dell Alienware M17x R3 Gaming Notebook comes with Nvidia Optimus technology when selecting the optional NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB as the graphic card ?
Does the optional 3D-capable 120Hz full HD display come inbuilt as the notebook’s display when its selected for the display option ?
1. Yes, when the graphics card is selected, it says w/optimus technology.
2. I believe it does, but you may have to adjust the settings for the screen on the control panel.
