It’s not official yet, but it seems that the long wait for Google’s Chrome OS netbook is going to end on December 7th. According to the tech site Engadget.com they have some sources that told them that Google will be holding a press event in San Francisco on Tuesday to announce the Chrome OS netbook. Engadget also posted images of the netbook’s supposed keyboard and mentioned that the netbook will be Atom-powered. But don’t expect to get hold of the Chrome OS netbook soon because it won’t be rolling out in stores, the cloud-based OS is still very much in beta and Google will be rolling out around 65,000 netbooks only, a number that is good only for Google’s closest friends.

This is the supposed keyboard of the Google chrome OS netbook published by Engadget.
As of now there are very little information that we can get about the netbook’s specs, only one thing looks quite sure–that the Google Chrome OS Netbook will be powered by an Intel Atom Pine Trail processor and that it will be just like any other netbooks in the market. As to the Chrome OS, nothing much is known yet except that it will be cloud based and there will be a lot of apps for it. There are also rumors that Google will be opening its Chrome Web / App Store very soon.
